But, do we realize what freedom is all about. "What does freedom mean to you?" is the question that Karl McMichael, host of "Freedom Outdoors," asks of every guest on the new outdoor show scheduled to air in 2006 on The Men's Channel.
That is why the guest list for the TV show includes soldiers who have served in Iraq, and veterans who have served during a past wartime eras. "Freedom Outdoors" takes them on a hunt or fishing trip and then has a very personal and moving interview so that they have the opportunity to express their views to America when asked the question, "What does freedom mean to you?"
Karl McMichael also encourages the viewers to help those who are disabled or less fortunate, to get new comers started in the outdoors, and to stand up for our rights to hunt, fish, and own a gun. The show also focuses on handicapped hunters and fishermen, sportswomen, and our youth including a variety of shows featuring all types of hunts as well as fresh and salt-water fishing. "Freedom Outdoors" has an underlying grassroots viewpoint of morality, family values and American freedom woven into each program.

A note about hunting.
Hunting is a passionate pursuit enjoyed by over 80 million Americans. It is legal in some form in all 50 states and is an essential source of food for many rural citizens nationwide. Hunting and fishing licenses, trophy fees, game tags and related protocols are the primary source of conservation dollars preserving wild animal habitat the country over. All animals in the Freedom Outdoors shows are taken in a humane manner, with the food either consumed by the hunters or donated to local food banks. We abide by all local hunting laws, seasonal limitations and local environmental codes. We encourage all hunters to abide by the great sporting traditions in place in this country for over 100 years. Selective game hunting has been a true conservation success story. The population of deer in America is greater now than it was during the time of the revolutionary war. Managing these herds in the absence of their natural enemies is essential, as deer/vehical accidents kill hundreds of Americans each year. Hunters and sportsmen are the nations true conservationists, both in spirit and in dollars spent on habitat and wildlife preservation.
